"Er." Oriana's face flushes slightly. "Those are actually computer programs set up to try and get money from you. None of them are real."
"I suppose it's a good thing I have no money, then. Though I do remember Bumblebee saying something about credit cards." He stops and thinks about that a moment. "This can't end well, can it?"
"A good antispam program will take care of them." She closes her book and looks up at him thoughtfully. "Optimus Prime?"
"I'll have to look into that program," he says, then nods. "Yes, I'm... a
Optimus Prime." He's still getting used to the rather curious nature of this place.
"So am I," she says softly, offering a hand. "But I call myself Oriana Pax."
"You too?" He shakes her hand, but looks a little confused. Okay, more than a little. In fact, bewildered might be putting it mildly. "There's a reality where we're human...?"
She shakes her head. "I scan human, but I'm not. I'm a Cybertronian spark in a matrix of hard light."
"Oh," Optimus says. "How did that happen...?"
"I don't know." She shakes her head, her smile fading for a moment.
Optimus notices that, and quickly changes the subject. "It amazes me how much variety there can be, among the Optimuses I've met."
That makes her chuckle slightly. "Yes, me too. I live with a chibi version who considers me his elder sister."
Being around the people he has, Optimus actually is familiar with the idea of chibi. At the same time, he's still a little surprised.
"How strange," he says. "I certainly hope Bumblebee never hears about that. I suspect he'd never let me hear the end of it."
Oriana blinks. "Bumblebee? The one that... I... remember wouldn't do such a thing."
"Okay," Optimus says. "I can accept all the different versions of me... I can even take the idea that several versions of me lead the Autobots... I can believe there was a world where I was addicted to video games and cut my own arm off. But... I can't believe there's a universe out there where Bumblebee isn't--" He trails off, realizing he needs to be a little delicate with this. "Where Bumblebee doesn't need to grow up a little more."
"He teased Spike, but he would never have dreamed of giving Optimus Prima a hard time," she asserts.
Then she blinks. "Cut off his own arm???"
"Hmmmm... even Bumblebee is different in different worlds. What a scary thought..."
Prime shrugs. "I met a Transformer from one reality where I went quite insane." He thinks about that a moment. "Or they did. They said something about their Optimus becoming a potato, at some point. So I really do question it."
The icon lies. Oriana is going 0_o right now.
Prime just nods. "Yes. That was my reaction, as well."
"Was the one you were speaking with overcharged?" Her brows draw together in a frown.
"No, but they did seem..." He thinks of a gentle way to put it, "Disturbed."
"Ahh... maybe they had a glitch."
"Yes." She tilts her head back to look at him. "Forgive my curiosity, but you sound very young."
"It wasn't too long ago I was in--" He stops himself. "I haven't been doing this long, I mean."
"You were in...?" She tilts her head quizzically.
