"Sure," says a small voice from under the corner of a large couch.
Prime hears the voice and moves closer, looking at the couch carefully...
Big blue optics look back at him from the face of a tiny, slightly misproportioned
version of himself. "Hi."
Prime stares at the chibi version... he seems to vaguely recall hearing something about this at some point, but that's not his first reaction.
"Um... that wouldn't be Sari, in a really good costume, would it?"
The bitty Optimus blinks, then frowns and shakes his head. "I'm not sure what you mean, so I'm going to say no. I'm Optimus Prime."
Then he looks down at himself and sighs a little. "Really."
Prime smiles. "Ah, I do seem to remember hearing something about that, at one point. You just... sort of reminded me of a human friend back in my world. She... thought it was a good idea to dress up as me for Halloween. I admit, the costume wasn't half bad."
"Oh." Ancient wisdom wars with childlike wonder and interest in the chibi's eyes. The wisdom fades, and Optimus gets up and cautiously walks out of his hiding place to touch whatever part of the bigger Autobot that he can reach. "You're me, aren't you?"
"Yes, I'm an Optimus." He's still getting used to those words. He kneels down in front of the chibi Prime and looks at it curiously. "Is this your natural form, in your world?"
"No." The little guy looks down. "It's the one I've had since I first came to the Nexus, though."
"So, the Nexus can change your physical body? Strange." If this Optimus weren't a little wary of the place before, he certainly is now.
"I... I'm not sure I had a physical body," says the chibi seriously. "The last thing I remember from my own reality... is dying."
Prime frowns. This isn't the first Prime he's of that's died, himself included. He's starting to worry about that being a trend. "At least you made it here, to safety."
"I dunno how safe it is, even with the AV field." chibiOptimus looks around. "One stomp would probably make any Decepticon's day, and my chibi fear instinct might accidentally let them do it."
"I would think the AV field would keep anything like that from happening." Accidentally, though? He doesn't know enough about it to say. "Do you have any weapons in that form?"
Optimus looks down at his hands. "I don't know. Right now I can't even remember what I'm supposed to have."
"Well, I've got an axe, a grappling line and fire retardant foam. Do you think it might have been anything like that?"
He tilts his head, frowning. "Ax... oh!"
One small hand is lifted, and there's suddenly a glowing energy ax there. "Wow...."
Prime stares at the axe a moment. "That's a neat trick."
"Um... yeah." Optimus tries to access programming as to what to do with it, but comes up blank. "Oh... I think I have a gun, too... and a trailer?" He looks around.
