"Hey, Vic." Bumblebee settles down on the floor near the couch and holds out a hand to Waltz, who curls up beside her. "Does anybody there know your secret? And what's your character like, y'know, education-wise 'n stuff?"
Then she pauses. "Oh yeah, this is Waltz... my and Jazz's youngest. Waltz, this is Victor Allen."
"Hi," says the pale yellow femme softly, her soft brown optics averted shyly.
"Hey, Waltz! It's awfully nice to meet you." She smiled at her, all friendliness. If there were a person made of friendliness and coffee, that person just might be Victor-shaped.
"I think I wanna give her an associate degree. And I have a few people on my world who know, but I dunno what proximity they live to my school. I'll ask them, though."
Bee rubs Waltz's back. "An associate degree in what, though? Yeah, maybe you can PIN to their house and then walk or bus."
"Maybe an AAB. And that's definitely an option. Thanks!"
"Um. You're welcome." Bee looks embarrassed. "What's that?"
"Associate of Applied Business," she said matter-of-factly. She was trying to alleviate Bee's embarrassment by being a little bit on the brisk side, but not too
"So... she'd be able to...?" Yes, Bee surfs the net. But there's just so much on the music and culture fronts that she's never gotten to the things like formal human education.
"Actually...." Actually it was Victor's
turn to look sheepish. "I'm not entirely
sure. Businessy things?"
Bee scratches her head. "Would she be able to use it for an online business?"
"I dunno. That's what I'm leaning toward."
"That might be the thing. Even if it's just one of those rackets where you sell some kind of makeup or soap or something."
"Yeah. That's what I'm thinking. That, or stocks."
"Ooh. I'm not sure if she can make enough to live on that way, though."
"Yeah... I just get enough to buy pizza for Sam and Micky sometimes."
"Yeah. I want her to be able to have a small house and groceries delivered and for her to be able to pay for utilities. A few luxuries, too. Nothing fancy."
"Wouldn't an apartment be more realistic?" Bee leans her elbows on her knees and her chin on her hands, so intent is her interest.
"Definitely, but I kind of have this image of her in suburbia."
"Hmmmm." Thoughtful Bee is thoughtful as she tries to picture it.
"I know that part of her comfort zone is being self-contained. And a main plot point is that she's gonna have people staying with her."
"Ah, okay." She brightens. "Maybe she inherited it or something?"
something I'll keep in mind," she said, grinning all goofy-like.
Bee chuckles. "Do you have her name?"
"I have a few ideas. I'm waiting to see if one of them sticks."
"I know how that goes." She glances at her youngest, who is looking around the Nexus with shy interest.
