Today Jubilee sits on one of the Nexus chairs, with a cup of tea on her hands and a reflective look on her face.
"I have come to figure, that in a person's life there will always be people will eventually take a different path, and you do not get to see them much anymore. Or at all. Especially considering the changing effects of the Nexus on other dimension, considered to your own."
"In your own life, who have you met that isn't around anymore, and that you miss seeing the most?"
"And if that is a little too... depressing to think about. Who would you love to meet in the Nexus?"
"Rachel. On both counts."
"I am assuming that Rachel is someone dear to you?"
"She was my fiancee.
"She died not long ago."
"Oh I am sorry to hear that." She gestures to the couch by where she is sitting, if he wants to sit. Join in some tea.
"I too have had relationships who hadn't worked out the way I had hoped."
He carefully doesn't show the left side of his face, sitting so she won't see it.
"Although I doubt you've had any go as bad as mine."
From the backpack at her feet, she produces another cup and pours him some tea. Giving him a faint smile, she says, "You shouldn't assume."
"You can never tell what experiences a person has had, by appearance."((ooc question -- would Harvey's aura be a split personality at this stage in his life yet. Jubes has aura sight and might note it))
"No, I suppose not. But I can tell a few things, I'd think? I'm good at reading people, after all--I'm a lawyer."And a liar. I can tell half her face isn't burnt off.(Fractured, yes. In the movie he isn't as much split as unable to make decisions without the Coin--I see it as his good and bad urges yelling at him too loudly for anything else to get through.)
"I would be interested, what do you read of me?" She notes the fractured aura of this man. It seems to fluxuate slightly, as if something else is bothering him.
"I miss my sister. Haven't seen her in awhile. And more than that, I missed you."
The world comes for a stop for a second so Jubilee can adjust to the sudden shock of seeing Ethan again.
"Hey stranger." No really, her voice is not chocked up with emotions. Hug her now man, hug her now.
Mindreader much? He does indeed hug her, tightly and warmly. Her familiar scent made his head rush with joy.
"Stranger? I haven't been gone THAT long have I?" he joked
She relaxs slightly in the hug, as if confirmed that he is indeed here and not an illusion of her mind. She hugs him back tightly, and might not let go for awhile.
"It seems like ages," She whispered.
"I'm inclined to agree with you. It feels really good to be back in your arms." he whispered back, not letting go any time soon either.
"I was sort of afraid that being in my arms would not be one of the places you might have wanted to return to." There is just a tiny bit of guilt in her voice, from what happened to him, and helping clone him, and telling him that he should take time to himself.
"I don't know what would have given you that fear. It was a place I didn't want to leave in the first place but you were right. I needed time to come to grips, let the fuzz fade and clean out the cobwebs. I started to react strangely while I was away... sudden outbursts of anger and confusion. Likely from being mixed up with that ghost. I'm glad you weren't around for me to take that out on."
"Things were not that great around the fire hall either. I am glad you were not around, especially if you had to deal with that anger and confusion."
"To tell the truth, I never really got close to anyone until recently," Swindle says with a shrug, "Everything was business. Of course, I did business with many people of...shorter lifecycles than I..."
"I guess there is an advantage to keeping your distance, sometimes."
"Can't be abandoned if you don't put yourself in situations that would lead to that," Swindle says in agreement, then chuckled, "Of course, that contradicts what I've put myself in now."
"Well, I, er...I guess the human term is got married," Swindle says with a chuckle.
This kid I met in the Nexus named Ritsuka. His home reality sounded seriously sketchy. I haven't seen him in almost two years.
"Sounds like you are worried about his welfare."
Yeah. It sounded like his mother was nuts, and this much older guy kept dogging him, saying he had to be the "sacrifice" for this guy's fighting team. Just bad news. Then he stopped appearing in the Nexus. I think most people would be concerned.
"No kidding. I hope you do someday learn something about him."
