"Nice guys don't finish last." Bee bounces her small green daughter on her hip. "Megatron's dead, remember? Or did that not happen in your reality?"
For a moment, Sam was so relieved when he saw Bumblebee, but once noticing the green 'bot and noting that this was a female Bumblebee, he knew this wasn't his Bumblebee. But, it was still A Bumblebee at least. "Yeah, that happened. And I'm glad. I really am. It sure beats getting killed after all. I just didn't get the girl in the end."
She lowers herself to her knees and sets Honey free, warning the sparkling away from Sam with a soft Cybertronian squeal as she offers him a hug. Not her Sam, true, but a sad Sam is a Sam who needs a hug. "Still. Shows the nice guys don't finish the lastest."
"Just close enough to last, right?," he offered with a bit of a laugh, before moving to take the hug that was offered. It was weird, he'd never gotten to hug one of them before, but it wasn't like he was exactly on heigh level with them, either. "I guess it is
better to be in my situation, than Megatron or any of the other Decepticons', though."
In her reality they count him as one of them.
She rubs his back gently with one big hand, the gesture motherly but encouraging. "Hey... my sparkmate got killed in that last fight with Megatron. Wound up here in the Nexus as a ghost who couldn't get back to his reality. Then he ran into me, and now he's a married mech with one and a half kids. And I think he's a nice guy."
The gesture made him feel a little better, maybe not entirely, but a little. It hadn't clicked in his head who she was speaking of, his thoughts really on what happened with Megatron, and what didn't happen with Mikaela. Then again, different version of Bumblebee, could have been talking about an entirely different person lost in that battle.
"It must take time for nice guys to get what it is that they want, then," he said a moment later, "I should just be glad I didn't get killed in the end. I could've ended up squished to death by Megatron, instead."
"I'm not what he wanted at the start." She grins at him, then winces and holds him a little protectively. "Yeah, me too."
Honey beeps then and comes over to gently poke at his nose, her visor- the spitting image of Jazz's, coming down over her big blue Bumblebee optics.
"She's saying hi," says Bee.
"Well there is that saying that you don't always get what you want, but you sometimes get what you need instead..," he suggested, although this contradicted his question to begin with. Because being with Mikaela was what he 'wanted'.
When the younger 'bot came over and poked at his nose, he grinned a bit. It was only right that he poke at her nose in return. "Hi," he said to Honey, before it started to click, just from what Bee said a moment ago, and the familiarity of the young 'bot..
"Were you talking about Jazz?," he asked a moment later. Sam wasn't slow, he really wasn't. His mind had just been preoccupied! Honest.
The sparkling beeps gleefully at the nose poke, then pokes her own nose and beeps some more.
Bee can't blush, but she looks like she is as she chuckles slightly. "Yeah, Sam, I was talking about Jazz."
Honey chuckles too, mimicking her mother's sound.
