Another Autobot in the Nexus...

"I bet our Ratch would love to hear those ideas too," says a female voice as bright blue optics twinkle at the old mech.
Yes, this is Bumblebee. With a little tiny mint green femme riding on her back and peeking over her shoulder.
The red and white 'Bot blinks at this new face, trying to decide what to make of the unfamiliar Cybertronian on the whole. "Okay, after seein' Kickback, Overdrive and a few others, I think you take it all for odd looks. An' if there are more Ratchets around, maybe the lot of us should just hold a nice little conference over some energon and pitch ideas."
"Way to make a femme feel good about herself, Ratch." She snerks as she turns her head and scans the Nexus. "He's here somewhere, but his daughter wanted to check something out, I think."
"I fully admit I'm not as charming as I used to be," he says with a grin, amused. "Though maybe 'unusual' or 'unique' might have been the better choice of words."
At the mention of the word 'daughter', however, he does a bit of a double take. "'Daughter'?"
She turns back and tilts her head to look up at him. "Yeah. Columbia. What, you're still batching it?"
"'Batching'...? What now?" The explanation does nothing to assist the medic in processing all this.
"The Ratch I know is sparkbonded. He and his wife have a daughter. Neither has done anything to make him less grumpy."
The little green bot on her back giggles at this, then beeps herself on the nose.
"...I practically lived on a maintenance shuttle with four other mechs. No femmes. Suffice to say, yeah, I'm still 'batching it'," he replied with a look of general annoyance. I'm not sure how much more of this insanity I can take.
It's her turn to look surprised. "Maintenance shuttle? What happened to the Ark
? ...Uh."((*hugs poor old Ratchet and feels sympathetic* I'm acrashing. Continue tomorrow?))
"It's called the 'Ark', sure, but it's just a maintenance shuttle. I know for sure it's got more bells and whistles on it that what we used it for, but the leading engineers on Cybertron, in all their infinite wisdom
-" he responds, the sarcasm in his voice evident - "decided to disable those for sake of saving energon. A lotta good that did us when that Decepticon command ship showed up. It fired on us and we couldn't even fire back..."((Crash away... and yes, continue tomorrow!))
"Oh." She blinks, nonplussed. "Uh, how 'bout I go get Ratch?"
Well, it's the first time someone's actually volunteered to go get one of his counterparts...and suddenly he's not so sure he actually wants to meet another version of himself. It could be interesting, enlightening or just really unnerving.
"Uh, sure." Honestly, he doesn't look quite THAT sure, but...he shrugs. "Could be interestin', I guess. Wouldn't hurt to know yet another Autobot 'round here."
She seems to smile even with the immobility of her face. "Try thinking of him as a brother. That helps me deal with all the 'Bees that run around the Nexus."
The little green bot on her back beeps, then trills happy nonsense.
"Honestly, that doesn't help much. It's hard to imagine having a brother when you don't know what that's like in the first place outside of 'brothers in arms', if you will. But if that's what I know, I suppose it'll have to do."
"Yeah." She gives his arm a pat that's surprisingly motherly, then excuses herself and walks off toward where she last saw 'her' Ratchet.((Should I stick him on here, or make another thread down below Amy?))
