The crash triggers her defense mechanisms, and the next thing Oriana knows she's standing there in full Optimus Prima mode staring at the furry mech.
"Er...." She extinguishes her sword, faceplate flushing slightly at her reaction. "I'm sorry, no... and brewers' yeast?"
Ratchet gets a distinct "buh?" look on his faceplate at the sudden appearance of this female. "Who are you? ...and...what is brewer's yeast?"
The red and blue femme looks down at herself, wondering if she still scans as human (she does). "I call myself Oriana Pax. And brewer's yeast is a substance that organics use to stop shedding of fur."
Then she looks back at him, blue optics quizzical over the face shield. "Who are you?"
"I guess I'll have to look into that at some point, then. Not that it's a critical thing, but it gets annoying when you're shedding into your own mug of energon."
He looks the female over her, scanning her briefly and finding that she reads as a human. Regardless, he's still not sure what to make of her...especially when she tells him her name. "'Oriana Pax'? My commander's name before he was Prime was Orion Pax. That's either a weird coincidence, or this is another one of those alternate reality things that's just going to mess with me. I'm Ratchet, by the way."
"That... would be unpleasant." She sighs. "The femme that I was created from lead the Autobots till she died after fighting Megatron and passing the Matrix of leadership on to Ultra-Magnus."
And if he takes into account the lack of truck parts on her... she looks like a femme version of Optimus Prime.
Ratchet examines her a bit closer as she explains, and his jaw drops. Oh Smokescreen, it wasn't as bad as you thought! Roller is never going to believe this...if...I can ever FIND him to tell him, that is...
"Okay, yes. This IS going to be one of those alternate reality things that's going to mess with me. I mean, I'm not trying to be rude, but seeing a female alternate of a mech I've always thought of as the greatest Autobot commander to ever live is at least just a bit odd. Not that a female can't be a great commander, I mean! Elita-1 was a great rebellion leader." Now all I need is for Shockwave to wander over here and hand me a shovel to dig the hole a bit deeper. Good going, Ratch.
She looks at him and chuckles, then staggers slightly as the defensive mode suddenly reverted to her usual mode. "Ugh...."((choking LJ... Sorry about that))
He shutters his optics in a blink of surprise as she reverts, and then the medic in him takes over as she staggers a bit. "Are you alright?"
She's blinking a bit in disorientation at the change in perspective, but at his question she offers a slight smile. "I think so. But I... don't think that I'm actually Optimus Prima. I was created from a part of her spark."
Then she tilts her head. "But... the Ratchet that I know of turns into an ambulance."
"Created from...." he repeats, digesting that bit of information. "Huh... Well, I'm not entirely unfamiliar with the concept of one spark coming from another."
He then holds out his arms, both covered in shaggy bear fur (one of them actually having the bear's head on it, part of his transformation being that his right hand extends from the mouth), his finger tips ending in claws. "I used to have an ambulance alt mode, but that was before my reality started to turn itself inside out. A transwarp wave accident changed a lot of us, and it turned me into this. To tell you truth, I really don't mind, except for the constant shedding and the fact that I can't travel as quickly as I used to. But I'm stronger and more durable, and my girlfriend seems to dig the fur. Heh."
Her brows lift as she continues the slight smile. "That would be a bonus."
Then the smile fades. "What do you mean about your reality turning itself inside out?"
The upbeat look Ratchet has falters...and fades. "It sort of tore itself apart. That thing with the transwarp technology was an accident that stemmed out of mixing the tech with the time energies on Dinobot Island. We thought it got fixed, but it seems that it didn't. Perhaps the damage was too great, or maybe the information we got from other worldly visitors then disrupted the time stream and came back on us afterward. Reality began to shift again, other worlders began to appear, we again started to change... And that second time, it all went to the Pit. Everything fell apart. I...was clinging to Delphia when it happened. There was a sound around us like freight trains from all directions, darkness flooded in, she was torn from my grasp and then...a long fall and staticky, white noise. Next thing I knew, I'd hit the ground, here..."
Her hand goes over her mouth as she listens to his account. "Primus...."
And now she's not sure what to say. ((just read Ratchet's journal and laughed till it hurt. Great stuff.))
Ratchet rubs the back of his helm with one hand, feeling depressed by what he's just recalled. "So far, I've only seen two others from my reality here, and naturally one of them had to be that slagger, Shockwave. Ungh. I haven't met up with any of those I was close with at the Ark, but...it's not like I have anything to do or anywhere else to go. I might as well wait here and see if what's been said rings true, that they might just all end up here like I did."((Thanks! Pretty proud of the new user info...and a lot of us in that game while it was still running prided ourselves on the level of insanity. :D ))
"Shockwave." All trace of smile vanishes from her face and her form blurs for a moment as her reaction nearly triggers her defensive mode again. But then she squares her shoulders and pushes it away. "This place has a way of collecting loose ends."
That, she suspects, is why she was sent here herself. She doesn't want to think that her own reality might have ended.((Some of my pups have lost realities, either because of RP end or evil plot bunnies. XD XD. Tis not just the insanity. You've got a good turn of word, too.))
